The engineer will gather, analyze, and report on transportation projects, liaise directly with clients, stakeholders, and the public, and coordinate stakeholder and advisory committee meetings. Responsibilities also include providing technical direction to junior staff, leading critical activities, managing small‑to‑medium assignments, writing and editing reports, and contributing to overall project management tasks.
Candidates must hold a Civil Engineering degree and have at least four years of experience in traffic engineering or transportation planning. Required technical expertise includes traffic signal operations, micro‑simulation (VISSIM or Aimsun), intersection capacity analysis software (HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, Sidra, Arcady), data analysis tools (MS Access, GIS), and a general knowledge of travel demand modelling.
Preferred qualifications include experience with intelligent transportation systems, AutoCAD, In‑Design, Illustrator, SharePoint, ProjectWise, and a Class 5 driver’s license. Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and prioritize under pressure.
