Apprentice Engineer

Description

• Assist in operating, maintaining, and repairing facility system equipment associated with HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Promptly report any unsafe practices or conditions to the supervisor for immediate resolution.
• Practice safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
• Respond to customer requests and submit/close work orders as necessary.
• Perform on-the-job training requirements as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Requirements

• Steam and electrically driven rotating machinery
• Computer skills and familiarity with building automation systems preferred.
• Nondestructive test equipment
• Satisfactorily complete training instructions in the following areas:
• Formal knowledge or training in HVAC components (e.g., VAVs, air handlers, pumps, unit ventilators).
• Must meet requirements as prescribed in the Stationary Engineers Apprenticeship Program.
• Bench and portable tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
• Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements as required.
• EPA 608 Certification preferred.
