Key responsibilities include developing a detailed appraisal framework that aligns with existing WRMP guidelines, managing the consultant‑led optioneering programme, and producing technical specifications for costing and public value assessments. The incumbent will supervise contractor activities, including investigations and pilot studies, and ensure that all deliverables meet regulatory requirements.
Monthly reports on cost, risk, progress, and issue resolution will be presented to the Water Resources Strategy Manager and the WRMP working group, using auditable data and methodology. The role also involves leading discussions with internal and external stakeholders to achieve consensus and representing South East Water at the regional planning forum for all options‑related workstreams.
Candidates must hold an engineering or related degree and have experience bringing engineering solutions to a feasible design stage. Proven communication skills, the ability to lead programmes of work, and technical expertise in scheme strategy or development are essential, with water‑industry experience considered desirable.
