Perform and participate in formal and on-the-job training, as required
Inform immediate supervision of any unusual conditions or actions impacting RP
Perform basic hazard assessments, review and approve work permits for RP requirements
Perform loose and fixed contamination checks on personnel (exit procedures from radiation zones) and equipment or facilities
Perform duties under varying degrees of supervision, including overtime, shift work, or irregular hours
Develop a good knowledge of the RP program and procedures at Candu Energy
Post and mark radiation signage and zones as required by procedures
Develop a good knowledge of all instruments used by Radiation Surveyors in the course of their work
Recognize and appropriately respond to abnormal situations to ensure personnel safety is maintained
Exercise judgement verifying procedural compliance and in offering advice on RP or contamination control questions as they arise in daily activities
Establish excellent communication and develop internal relationships with Candu staff as well as maintain an excellent business relationship with external industry peers and Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC)
Perform radiation surveys as requested by supervisors, including daily routine radiation surveys
Maintain proper documentation in records and daily logs

Green badge qualification or equivalent at a nuclear power station is preferred
Working knowledge of computer software and good record maintenance skills
Ability to work in teams and maintain strong cooperation with coworkers
Must be willing to travel, locally and internationally.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, to produce high quality applications and documentation for submissions
Graduate from a recognized institute of advanced technology or equivalent formal education in a relevant field
Must be designated as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW) or willing to be designated as a NEW.
Achieve Group 1 RP qualifications as well as RAMT qualification.
Ability to liaise with management, supervisors, customers and regulatory agencies using tact and good judgement
Must be willing and physically able to wear respiratory protection and protective clothing
Minimum 4 years of related work experience in radiation protection with nuclear power experience preferred
Ability to improve and deal with rapidly changing conditions
Thoroughly accurate, conscientious and possess excellent judgement
Be conscious of the interaction between radiation control measures and their effects on production and schedule responsibilities
Physically capable of lifting, handling, etc., various items on a regular basis
