Machinists are expected to perform essential duties such as operating CNC and conventional machines, interpreting technical drawings, utilizing precision measuring tools, maintaining safety standards, and demonstrating reliable attendance and vision compliance.
Additional responsibilities include keeping the work area tidy and completing tasks assigned by supervisors or managers.
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machining centers (lathes and mills).
- Apply knowledge of tools, materials, methods, and standard machining practices.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, and scales.
- Maintain a safe work environment per corporate policy and OSHA standards.
- Attend work daily and arrive on time.
- Edit CNC programs to achieve tight tolerances.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications and business documents.
- Apply mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios) to practical situations.
- Perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lb, and meet vision requirements.

The role requires functional machining operations and basic problem‑solving abilities while adhering to company guidelines.
Qualifications include a minimum high school diploma or GED (technical degree preferred), the ability to read technical specifications, solid mathematical and logical reasoning skills, physical capability to lift 50 lb and meet vision requirements, and basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Communicate effectively and solve problems within a team.
- Pass an annual eye exam (QP400).
- Develop and edit 3D CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam) – desirable.
- Hold at least a high school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
- Use logical/scientific reasoning to solve problems; multitask effectively.
- Use Microsoft Office; ERP system experience preferred.
