Reviewing and assisting with proposals and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for other large complex projects.
Leading a team of estimators and engineers in large pursuits.
Provide leadership and strategy in subcontractor and vendor selection process.
Coordinate with operations and business development teams to support proposals and presentations.
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
Communicate and present detailed estimates to project stakeholders.
Maintain current knowledge of healthcare construction codes, standards, and trends.
Implement District Estimating Programs, Management reviews and activities. Includes implementing company policies and procedures.
Lead preconstruction activities for healthcare and other large complex projects from concept through GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price).
Analyze project documents to evaluate risk and facilitate win strategies.
Leading teams in multiple estimates and pursuits.
Task management, strategies, resource leveling and responsible for estimate close out processes.
Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and reliable scope coverage.
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to develop accurate and comprehensive budgets and schedules.
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
Manage and mentor preconstruction and estimating staff, fostering professional development and technical excellence.

Ability to utilize computers, and experienced with Microsoft Office, Excel, On Screen takeoff, other estimating software programs. Willingness to learn new systems. Kiewit utilizes a proprietary estimating program, “InEight Estimate”.
Applicant must be proficient with conceptual, parametric, hard bid and self-perform estimating.
Expert in alternative project delivery methods (e.g., Design Build, Design Assist, IPD)
Results orientated with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
Must be detail oriented and technically sound with good communication skills.
Passion for delivering exceptional preconstruction and estimating services.
Become proficient in Kiewit’s proprietary estimating platform., “In Eight Estimate”.
Strong communication skills both in person and virtual. Strong work ethic and self-starter is a must.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong understanding of healthcare-specific building systems, codes, and compliance requirements (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, FGI Guidelines).
Minimum of 8-10 years of preconstruction or estimating, with at least 5 years as the preconstruction manager in healthcare and or other large complex projects.
Proven track record of successfully delivering preconstruction services for hospitals, medical office buildings, outpatient facilities, or similar.
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Professional certifications (e.g., CHC, DBIA) accreditations preferred.
Ability to lead large estimates and lead multiple teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Ability to work with limited instruction and implement successful action items.
