  • Ensures there is a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) and Semi Finished Goods structures are in alignment with the overall planning strategy; Executes to plan.
  • This role will be responsible for day-to-day execution of end-to-end planning processes of assigned BOM materials in conjunction with an aligned strategy. The candidate is tasked with managing incoming raw material stock levels in conjunction with the demand plan to support the global manufacturing operations. This position is a key driver in ensuring that adequate inventory is available to ensure production uptime, while optimizing inventory levels.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
  • Manage all system planning master data for assigned materials.
  • Ensures accurate supplier forecast data available to cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze/modifies planned orders as necessary based on inventory levels and system inputs and data from cross functional teams; Suggest modification to PO volumes based on inventory levels when necessary.
  • Analyzes Supply capacity vs global demand and communicates to cross-functional teams (CFT’s) when additional capacity is required to support First Solar growth.
  • Maintain effective communications and foster teamwork with peers.
  • Manages global balancing of material across sites in supply constrained situations.
  • Will lift, push or pull up to 37 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manage transition roll outs/changes/phase outs to ramp new materials and minimize obsolescence.
  • Support requests and actions items from other departments as required.
  • Reviews and make corrections as needed based on exception reports to ensure sufficient inventory.
  • Monitor significant inventory changes and investigate root causes.
  • May travel, including internationally, to support customers and operations.
  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.
  • Assure adherence to all First Solar processes and procedures, including ISO9000, ISO14000, safety, housekeeping, and audit.

  • APICS/ISM Certification preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong mathematical abilities.

  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business-related field and minimum of 1-year relevant work experience in a supply chain function.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards, and a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair) for those requiring respirator use.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs.

  • Experience with MRP concepts and one or more ERP systems (Oracle Cloud preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze data, recognize critical issues and drive solutions to resolve.
  • Proficient Knowledge of Oracle Cloud and/or other ERP system functionality.
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate cross functionally and globally.
  • Associate’s degree in supply chain or business-related field and minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience in a supply chain function.
  • Works with guidance/supervision from Manager or more experienced peers.
  • 20/40 vision in both eyes together, with or without correction, is required.
  • Experience with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within Supply Chain.
