  • Monitor and approve contractor pay requests.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, and clients to resolve construction-related issues.
  • Document site observations, prepare reports, and track project issues.
  • Prepare the Henneman Engineering pay request to owner.
  • Review and interpret construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Support closeout procedures, including final inspections and documentation.
  • Respond to contractor requests for information (RFIs) and submittals.
  • Participate in progress meetings, site inspections, and punch list preparation.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
  • Assist in reviewing change orders and evaluating cost implications.
  • Ensure compliance with design intent, building codes, and contractual requirements.

We are looking for an Architect to lead construction administration on an exciting and innovative historical preservation project we have with the State of Illinois. The Construction Administration Architect will act as the client and design team’s representative during construction, ensuring the project is built according to contract documents, specifications, and applicable codes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in coordinating with contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction administration or related architectural project management.
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and materials.
  • Licensed Architect in the State of Illinois
  • Strong client-facing and team collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to be on site in Springfield multiple days a week.
