Monitor jobsite locations for hazards and safety concerns. Take necessary measures to correct/eliminate hazards.
Stay current on all legal changes and updates.
Ensure new employees receive Safety Orientation prior to beginning work.
Provide leadership in developing safety policies, procedures, and practices that prevent accidents and ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal rules and regulations including OSHA, IOSHA, MSHA, DOT, NFPA, and EPA.
Conduct accident investigation and prepare reports identifying possible accident causes and hazards; submit report to Safety Director in a timely manner.
Assist in the evaluation and upgrading of Safety Programs.
Maintain, promote, and enforce project site safety in accordance with Company, State, and Federal policies and procedures.
CUSTOMER SERVICE - We assure a quality response in a timely manner for both internal and external customers.
Provide training for employees in safe work practices and necessary training per job functions and jobsite requirements.
Lead Safety Committee Meetings quarterly.
This position has no direct supervision responsibilities but will give direction to others in ensuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations.
Maintain Safety files and records.
Provide recommendations and assistance with respect to job site hazards, employee training, new/safe equipment operation, and safe material or substance utilization.
Advise Safety Director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions.
Ensure all offices and sites have the proper PPE and safety equipment.
Provide support to Project Managers, Foreman, and Field employees to ensure each construction site is conducting operations in a safe manner for the protection of the employees, clients, and subcontractors.
Perform safety inspections and prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated; follow up to ensure measures have been implemented.

This position may require up to 50% travel to Ashland, Lexington, Louisville, and Paintsville to train new hires, attend meetings, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of fundamentals of Construction Safety, Accident Prevention, Occupational Injury, Human Factors, Industry Safety Criteria, Risk Management, and Incident Investigation techniques and methods.
Detail-Oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
30 Hour OSHA Certification required.
Strong knowledge of all applicable OSHA, DOT, NFPA, and EPA regulations.

OSHA Outreach Trainer may be required for some jobsite locations.
Minimum of five (5) years Field Safety Management experience, preferably in Construction MEP Industry.
Bachelor’s Degree in a Safety related field is preferred, but not required.
Must be able to lead and communicate effectively with Field employees, Subcontractors, Supervisors/Foremen, Project Managers, and Client Representatives.
