In this role you will lead Regal Rexnord Corporation’s global claims and litigation portfolio across all operating segments, serving as the lead in‑house counsel on significant matters. You will set strategy, drive cost‑effective dispute resolution, manage outside counsel, oversee discovery, issue litigation holds, and ensure compliance. Partnering closely with HR, Compliance, IT, and other business leaders, you will defend the company against claims and proactively mitigate risks, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary with exposure to the CEO, CFO, and Segment Presidents.
You will own end‑to‑end management of complex litigation—including product liability, commercial, contract, and IP matters—from pre‑litigation through resolution, handling strategy, budgeting, and reporting. Responsibilities include managing jury trials, mediations, key witness depositions, supporting M&A litigation due diligence, directing discovery strategy with IT and vendors, and maintaining defensible processes. You will oversee outside counsel and experts, negotiate fee arrangements, draft pleadings and settlement agreements, deliver training on litigation holds and witness preparation, and establish KPIs and dashboards for senior leadership.
The position requires a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, with ten or more years of experience managing complex litigation, including trial or lead in‑house experience. Demonstrated expertise in discovery, litigation holds, data preservation, and vendor management is essential, along with strong written and oral advocacy and the ability to translate legal risk into practical business guidance. Candidates must be willing to work on‑site in Rosemont, IL or Milwaukee, WI and travel up to 20% as needed.
Preferred qualifications include in‑house experience at a global industrial or manufacturing company and prior work at a large law firm representing industrial clients in commercial and product liability matters. Experience with product liability, government investigations, cross‑border discovery, records retention frameworks, and managing preferred law firm programs or alternative fee arrangements is valued, as is comfort working with senior executives on high‑stakes issues.
Compensation ranges from $215,000 to $250,000, supplemented by a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, various spending accounts, paid time off and holidays, a 401k plan with employer matching, life and AD&D insurance, paid leaves, and tuition assistance.
