Ensure compliance with federal, provincial payroll laws and best practices.
Create a positive and supportive working environment
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll
Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Drive forward process and reporting improvements, implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
Collaborate with the implementation partner and ensure the needs of the CRS are met.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

Have a minimum of 5 years of supervisory/leadership experience
Proven involvement in payroll implementation projects
Formal payroll education from the National Payroll Institute (NPI)
Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of delivering results while meeting tight deadlines
Subject Matter Expert in payroll and ability to communicate effectively to share this knowledge
Keen attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Strong communication skills and are able to represent the interests of payroll on the project
You believe in collaboration, building relationships and value the perspectives of others
Excellence in achieving multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite especially with Excel
Possess at least 10 years of relevant payroll experience
Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Familiar with current systems and processes related to Payroll including the current payroll general ledger structures
