  • Collect data, perform basic calculations, and report data to engineering staff
  • Use Multisim or other Circuit Design and Analysis software to test circuit designs
  • Assist in documenting findings and reporting efforts related to this work
  • Collect, store, and maintain power quality data and databases
  • Travel to customer sites for field testing and data collection
  • Use Computer Aided Drafting software to illustrate mechanical designs and electrical schematics
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot standard electronics testing equipment, meters, scopes, spectrum analyzers, data recorders, etc, and corresponding software
  • Learn methodologies and conduct testing SEMI, IEEE, and IEC standards
  • Test power and power-quality measurement systems to given protocols and testing standards
  • Normally follows established procedures on routine work. Requires instructions only on new assignments.
  • Perform various PQ tests in the laboratory and at customer sites to help evaluate equipment performance
  • Participate in the manufacturing, construction, electrical wiring, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing of custom made electronic equipment
  • Produce procurement documents and purchase electronic equipment and parts.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot power and power-quality measurement systems for EPRI and its customers
  • Use fabrication tools to construct test fixtures, and prototype devices
  • Assist in performing Power Quality and Energy Efficiency assessments in industrial facilities throughout the U.S

  • Possess a strong background in electronics or related technology and understand electrical calculations and scientific principles to apply towards troubleshooting electronics and electrical systems
  • Understand technical drawings, and specifications of electrical systems
  • Possess a working knowledge of computers and be able to install programs, configure software, troubleshoot computer operational problems and be familiar with computer applications such as Microsoft Office tools, etc.
  • Basic understanding of computer networking and associated hardware, windows servers, and database management
  • Must be able to set up, assemble, install or build components of experimental apparatus or equipment.
  • Certification and/or Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 year of experience as a technician in at least one of the primary engineering or scientific disciplines.
