Uplight is seeking a Technical Project Manager responsible for executing and delivering projects for utility clients on time, within scope, and within budget.
The Technical Project Manager will join the Delivery team and lead cross‑functional projects, working closely with clients, partners, Sales, Engineering, Product, Account Management, and Support to ensure each project scope is successfully delivered and customers realize full solution value.
Key contributions include executing projects according to best practices, monitoring milestones, managing risks, facilitating communication, handling contracts and vendor relationships, ensuring quality, resolving issues, leading cross‑functional teams, maintaining thorough documentation, driving continuous improvement, and overseeing project launch and closure with proper handoff to Operations and Account Management.
Successful candidates have a solid understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies applied to client‑facing implementations, and are proficient in managing scope, tracking progress, identifying risks, maintaining schedules, and communicating effectively with clients. They must be highly organized, comfortable with technical concepts, and skilled at translating key messaging into digestible formats for customers.
Candidates should have at least five years of project or program management experience, including three years leading complex SaaS projects, a proven track record delivering large‑scale utility or energy‑as‑a‑service projects, strong electricity industry knowledge, and outstanding C‑suite communication skills. Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams, strong problem‑solving abilities, and a BS/MS/PhD in engineering, science, or equivalent work experience are required.
