You’ll support data‑center startups by performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems in industries such as food and beverage. You’ll partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems on‑site, providing clear communication and updates to customers and project teams. Travel rotations follow schedules such as 5 on / 2 off, 10 on / 4 off, or 14 on / 7 off, exposing you to new challenges and locations.
We’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that knows your name. The role is designed for people who can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems. Four weeks of paid training will prepare technically skilled individuals, and success requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking.
We seek candidates who love travel and are ready to be away from home on rotation, with a genuine passion for electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Required qualifications include a technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience (3+ years) in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering, strong communication and problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and grit. You must live within 50 miles of a major airport, have a personal vehicle within 45 days of employment, and be authorized to work in the U.S.
Physical requirements include the ability to walk long distances across large facilities, climb ladders or work at heights, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lb, and stand, kneel, or reach for extended periods. You may work in varied environments such as construction sites, outdoors, and hot or cold conditions, with reasonable accommodations available.
You’ll combine work with travel, experiencing new cities, tackling unique projects, and earning travel rewards while working directly with customers across North America. There is no office to report to, and you’ll be away from home while you’re on the job.
Starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 depending on location, education, and experience, supplemented by per‑diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses. We foster endless trust, teamwork, and appreciation, knowing every person by name.
We invest in your development through paid training, annual merit raises, and a 5 % salary increase after six months. You’ll have opportunities to learn, advance, and build a career that can move in multiple directions, with the company cheering your growth even if you eventually leave.
Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short‑ and long‑term disability options, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. We take care of you both on and off the job.
Our people‑first culture emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, and humor. All leaders have grown into their positions, so your manager does the work they ask of you, and you’ll be surrounded by colleagues who have your back.
If you want a challenging, travel‑filled career where your effort matters, we’d love to meet you. ProAutomated is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and a respectful workplace.
