Technical Manager - Environmental Consultancy

Description

• Leads the technical coordination of EC projects
• Provide bid management, technical bid and client engagement support for client opportunities.
• Coordinate with Binnies technical communities of practice to focus service development and innovation to meet current and future client needs.
• Coordinates multi-disciplinary and specialist teams to deliver projects with a range of complexity in the fields of impact assessment, nature-based solution development, habitat creation and landscape-scale enhancement.
• Ensures that reports meet client requirements and are delivered on time and within budget
• Proactively manages allocated overhead budget assigned to client engagement and bid management tasks.
• Collaborate with industry associations, research institutions, and other relevant organisations to stay informed of the latest technological advancements and emerging trends in the field of environmental consultancy and impact assessment.
• Proactively contributes and supports business development, strategy and pursuit activities
• Lead and be accountable for the coordination and resourcing of specialist resources to deliver the portfolio of work.
• Oversees technical teams of environmental services specialists in the production of concise, focused reports for a range of clients
• Coordinates with Project Managers and Client representatives to deliver client and project needs, provide updates on project progress, and address any technical concerns
• Responsible for determining key client interests and drivers on high complex projects and determine the key clients in specific business lines.
• Proactively offers other technical services to the clients to meet their specific challenges and requirements.
• Provides technical guidance to the team, ensuring that they are at the forefront of the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices

Requirements

• Seen as a key technical advisor in delivery of environmental projects
• Holds an Industry recognized professional chartered qualification.
• Independently provides technical leadership and shares knowledge and application of technical and quality management processes
• Master’s degree in Environmental or Natural Sciences preferred, specialized training, or experience, that makes the individual qualified to perform the job responsibilities.
• Knowledge of programme management using Microsoft Project or equivalent software
• Experience in integrating digital tools or solutions to improve project quality and efficiency
• Experience in providing technical coordination of multi-disciplinary teams across the full project development cycle (strategy, appraisal, feasibility, consenting & delivery)
• Understands and communicates industry and technical trends to the wider Binnies and other stakeholders
• Awareness of contract management principles and able to demonstrate proactive change management through task coordination and project delivery
