Visually inspect all construction activities on a daily basis to confirm installation procedures are aligned with Environmental code requirements per Client, Stantec, and applicable environmental standards.
Organize and facilitate environmental support activities as may be required legally or in support of the project
Develop a relationship with works contractors’ personnel to support an efficient and environmentally friendly work site
Collaborate with the project team to anticipate and collaborate on mitigation activities to address potential environmental risks and issues
Identify any nonconformance items in daily/weekly report and communicate appropriately in clearly written Environmental inspection reports
Provide environmental reviews of design documents during the engineering stage to support a safe working design from a construction perspective
Work with Project Leadership to define the environmental project guidleines in working and collaborating with various stakeholders, including private or public agencies
Lead the onsite safety culture for the project to support a safe working site
Communicate clearly with Stantec’s onsite Construction Manager to identify confirmation of Environmental procedures and nonconformance items
Take a leadership role and actively engage all stakeholders that may potentially impact environmental activities

Degree in Environmental or Geological Sciences or Engineering, or a similar field of study
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present status updates related to environmental project activities
Experience working with provincial (Newfoundland) and federal environmental regulatory agencies and knowledge of municipal, provincial, and federal regulatory requirements
Experience working in live combustion generation facilities, highvoltage substations/Electrical safety, and similar type projects
Able to communicate onsite Environmental items and issues to management and client.
Open to candidates that require subsistence and travel
Current First Aid/CPR certificate
At least 10 years working as an Environmental Lead and/or Manager
Technical knowledge related to environmental practices
Open to candidates that require to move to project location
Preference given to local candidates in the Northeast Avalon, NL region.
