The position involves contributing throughout the full making process, from early fabrication through to fine finishing. The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, problem solving ability and a solid foundation in both making and design. An established design and making studio is seeking a Designer Maker or Senior Designer Specialist to join their workshop team in London. This is a hands on role within a growing craft focused environment, working across a wide range of materials, processes and disciplines.
A high level of hand finishing skill is essential, with care and precision across sanding, shaping, blending and detailing. The candidate should be comfortable interpreting drawings, models or prototypes to inform fabrication, and demonstrate a patient, methodical approach with a strong eye for detail.

The ideal candidate will have hands on workshop experience and confidence working across a range of materials and processes. They will bring strong making skills, including experience with spraying metals, paints and lacquers, resin pouring and casting, metal finishing and polishing, and working with mixed materials such as wood, composites, plaster or stone.
