Engineer I, Traffic Control

Description

The Engineer I, Traffic Control will oversee and manage all aspects of traffic control and management on a live road construction site. This includes preparing and implementing Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) plans, ensuring public and worker safety, maintaining traffic flow, and coordinating with stakeholders, contractors, and authorities. The role requires a hands-on approach and presence at the project site.

• Liaise with local traffic police and government agencies to obtain approvals and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Implement and uphold safety and security protocols to protect the well-being of all employees and company assets.
• Conduct traffic safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments during various construction stages.
• Coordinate with contractors, site supervisors, and public authorities for traffic control setup, modification, and removal.
• Monitor and manage daily traffic control operations on-site to ensure safety and minimize disruption to road users.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, or complaints related to traffic disruptions.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports, including traffic control logs, inspection findings, and incident records.
• Attend coordination meetings with engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth operations.
• Develop, review, and implement site-specific Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) and Traffic Diversion Plans in accordance with relevant standards and authority requirements.
• Lead and mentor on-site traffic management teams to ensure adherence to approved procedures.
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a productive work environment.
• Ensure proper installation and maintenance of signage, barricades, flagmen, and temporary signals.
• Update traffic management plans based on construction progress and traffic flow analysis.

Requirements

• Previous experience with mega infrastructure or highway projects.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of traffic control regulations, work zone safety standards, and construction site procedures.
• 6-7 Years of experience in traffic engineering, highway construction, or detour planning.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office
• Bachelor’s Degree Civil Engineering
