The operative is responsible for tracking exported and transported waste batteries, ensuring they are safe for movement and can withstand shipping rigours. Duties include safe loading and unloading of transport vehicles, identifying battery chemistries, handling hazardous materials, adhering to SOPs and the company’s waste licence, and completing necessary paperwork.
Health and safety is paramount; the role requires wearing appropriate PPE, promptly reporting safety concerns, accidents, incidents and non‑conformances, and maintaining high housekeeping standards. The operative must communicate any issues to the Operations or Production Manager, attend meetings and training, and support other business areas, including off‑site services.
The position also involves maintaining vehicles, equipment, materials and PPE in clean, working order, performing checks, inspections and audits as directed, and being flexible to undertake additional tasks as requested by management.
