Lead a team of operational Health Physicists in CANDU reactor refurbishment projects, ensuring radiation safety and compliance.
Prepare and approve radioactive work plans to support station refurbishment activities.
Perform radiation shielding calculations and develop basic computer models to assess hazard profiles.
Perform ALARA planning to support CANDU large scale core component removal and replacement.
Develop and deliver radiation protection training associated with refurbishment.
Review RP programs from nuclear plants and design and implement appropriate methods to interface with clients on radiation protection.
Review design descriptions, details and recommend worker dose reduction strategies.
For worker radiation exposure and dose budgeting purposes develop individual and collective radiation dose projections.
Develop and recommend radiation safety controls for radiological work such as irradiated component removal from the reactor core and radioactive waste processing.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an operational health physicist working in CANDU power plants or equivalent nuclear industry
Experience in dealing with a large organization to address broad scope radiation safety needs.
Experience in applying high radiation safety standards expected in nuclear power plants.
Effective communication of the radiation safety compliance requirements to the organization.
Undergraduate degree in Health Physics or equivalent qualifications.
Ability to work as a team player among HP peers to ensure consistency of arrangements across multiple projects
