Make strategic decisions regarding team capacity, project staffing, and resource alignment.
Serve as a technical authority in HVAC system design, including load calculations, ventilation analysis, equipment selection, and existing system assessments.
Conduct regular check-ins and performance reviews in alignment with firm standards

Collaborate with project managers and other discipline leads to ensure smooth project execution.
Oversee quality control processes across all mechanical projects.
Lead hiring efforts for the mechanical discipline, including candidate screening, interviewing, and selection.
Identify training opportunities and provide targeted coaching.
Oversee onboarding to ensure seamless integration of new hires.
Maintain open communication with firm leadership, project teams, and other department leaders.
Lead, mentor, and support the growth of mechanical engineering staff, ensuring continuous development of both technical and soft skills.
Provide regular updates to the Vice President on team performance, project health, and staffing needs
Develop individualized growth plans for new team members.
Review and approve project deliverables for technical accuracy, code compliance, and adherence to firm standards.

Experience with healthcare, educational, and commercial projects preferred.
8+ years of progressive experience in mechanical/HVAC building systems design within an A/E or consulting environment.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Strong knowledge of HVAC and building mechanical systems design, codes, and industry standards.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required (WI required, IL preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Revit.
Occasionally required to stand; walk; climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
