This position is located in Kuwait supporting LOGCAP and reports to the COMMEL Supervisor. The role provides field-level maintenance and repair of vehicle radio installation kits and tactical communications systems on tracked and wheeled vehicles. It also includes inventory management and reordering of bench stock parts.
Key duties include performing the full range of vehicle radio system maintenance, completing work assignments within required man‑hour standards, and using appropriate technical manuals, bulletins, and directives. The incumbent troubleshoots equipment, diagnoses problems, performs corrective actions, and orders necessary repair parts through parts manuals or automated systems. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to obtain a host‑nation driver’s license, and be CAC eligible. Three years of communication‑maintenance experience is required, along with a working knowledge of test equipment, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and solid English communication skills. Strong teamwork, organization, planning, and the ability to handle confidential information are essential.
The work environment involves extreme temperatures up to 130 °F, harsh desert conditions, and both indoor and outdoor settings. Physical demands include heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing or sitting, and potential exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and compliance with fire and safety regulations are mandatory.
