In this role you will set up, operate, and maintain welding and grinding machinery to fabricate bi‑metal, carbide, carbon, and other blade types. Tasks include receiving coil stock, cutting to tag‑specified lengths, adjusting clamps, controlling time and temperature, performing weld inspections, grinding flash, and completing documentation and routine maintenance.
- Set up and operate automatic band cutter and welders for various blade materials.
- Receive coil stock and cut to size according to cut tags.
- Adjust welding machine clamps for blade width, thickness, and tooth spacing.
- Configure time and temperature controls, position flash guard, and start welding cycles.
- Perform visual inspections of weld quality, alignment, and tooth spacing.
- Grind welding flash from both sides and the back of blades using wheel or belt grinder.
- Grind flash from the gullet and reshape the gullet to match original specifications.
- Maintain and clean welder jaws, replace jaws as needed, and dress abrasive wheels.
- Complete required production documentation and log maintenance activities.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Disassemble, clean, lubricate, and repair machines as required.
- Calibrate or adjust gauges and precision measuring instruments when needed.
- Follow all safety rules, use protective equipment, and report hazards.
- Operate a wide‑width band weld line and perform related duties as directed.

The work environment is fast‑paced and deadline‑driven, requiring attention to safety and quality. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 1‑2 years of related experience preferred, and be comfortable handling 5‑25 lb loads while using charts, specifications, and micrometers.

- Ability to work with numbers, including decimals.
- Light physical effort: lift, push, pull 5–25 lb loads.
