Commissioning of EV Chargers

  • Collaborate with project and installation teams to integrate chargers into client networks effectively.
  • Provide hands-on assistance and technical guidance to customers on product use and functionality.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, software, and hardware faults.
  • Perform setup, calibration, and verification tests to ensure compliance with standards and functionality.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, standards, and company procedures.
  • Conduct scheduled and preventive maintenance to maximise charger uptime.
  • Carry out firmware updates, calibration checks, and replacement of defective components.
  • Participate in regular safety training and certification programs.
  • Manage service requests efficiently, keeping clients informed at every stage.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant UK regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Promote positive client relationships through professionalism and effective communication.
  • Install, configure, and commission AC, Rapid DC, and HPC EV chargers at client sites.
  • Ensure all service and maintenance records are accurately logged.

The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will play a vital role in commissioning, maintaining, and repairing EV charging systems across multiple UK locations. This hands-on role requires a technically capable professional with a strong understanding of electrical systems, diagnostic processes, and customer service.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
  • Previous experience in field service within EV charging, renewable energy, or power electronics (preferred).
  • Solid understanding of how EV chargers integrate with grid and back-office systems.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management, especially during field-based travel.
  • Manufacturer or EV charger-specific certifications advantageous.
  • Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (or equivalent).
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and City & Guilds 2391/2394 Testing & Inspection (desirable).
  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 3 points).
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and documentation.
  • Advanced fault-finding and diagnostic capability across electrical and software systems.
  • Full valid U.K drivers license
  • Proficiency in the use of test and measurement equipment (multimeters, voltage testers, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with AC, Rapid DC, and HPC chargers desirable.
