Production Assembler

Description

The Production Technician assembles, fabricates, and inspects window sashes, screens, and related components in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting. The role requires reading work instructions and blueprints, gathering materials, fabricating aluminum and glass parts, rolling screens, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards.

• Assemble components according to work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Retrieve parts, materials, and tools from inventory using pick lists.
• Track inventory of parts and tools used in assembly.
• Keep tools and work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Conduct testing, calibration, and quality checks on products.
• Verify quality of parts and materials before and during assembly.
• Prepare components for window sash fabrication.
• Position glass panes on suction wheels or workstations.
• Apply glazing material and assemble aluminum sash using pneumatic tools and adhesives.
• Inspect finished sash assemblies for accuracy and workmanship.
• Load completed sashes onto carts and label batches.
• Cut, roll, and assemble screen material to required dimensions.
• Build window screens with frames, spline, and rolling equipment.
• Ensure screen tension, alignment, and finish meet standards.
• Inspect finished screens for defects before packaging.
• Safely handle screen materials and components during production.

Requirements

Physical demands include frequent hand use, the ability to lift 40–50 lb unassisted, and standing for the entire shift while handling glass, aluminum, and screen materials.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum two years’ experience in fast‑paced manufacturing or assembly.
• Experience with window sash fabrication, screen rolling, aluminum work, or glass handling preferred.
• Able to read order sheets, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Basic math skills (addition and subtraction).
• Works independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Knowledge of glazing techniques and screen assembly.
• Proficient with hand tools, pneumatic drivers, cordless drills, and glazing equipment.
• Ability to read tape measures and determine material lengths accurately.
• Familiar with aluminum, glass, fasteners, adhesives, and screen materials.
• Strong communication skills and receptive to direction.
