What you would be doing

  • Represent the company positively in all interactions with clients, contractors, and the public, maintaining professionalism on-site.
  • Assist your Supervisor and crew in completing field operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data collection.
  • Prepare and maintain field equipment daily, ensuring it is properly functioning, maintained, cleaned, and fully charged for field use.
  • Maintain thorough field notes, manage multiple site activities, and problem-solve on the spot.
  • Assist in underground utility investigation, data collection, and processing using Pipe and Cable Utility Locators and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
  • With guidance from our GIS field data collection experts, assist them in field data collection utilizing high precision GNSS receivers paired with ArcGIS Online field applications.
  • Accurately record and communicate field measurements, observations, and conditions.
  • Immediately notify your Supervisor and team members of any equipment issues, malfunctions, or safety concerns encountered on site.
  • Work collaboratively with surveyors, engineers, and other team members to support successful project delivery.

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from office.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of GPS/GNSS technology.
  • Be prepared to travel overnight occasionally for remote project assignments, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
  • This role is primarily outdoors and will require working in varying weather and site conditions. Tasks involve driving, lifting, carrying, reaching, bending, kneeling, crawling, walking, sitting, and standing. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong listening and collaboration skills.
  • 1–5 years of hands-on field experience in surveying preferred, including assisting with data collection, operating surveying equipment, and supporting professional surveyors on projects such as roads, building sites, and environmental locations.
  • Familiarity with Esri Mobile Mapping Applications (Field Maps and Survey123) is required.
