The role involves clearing brush and obstacles to maintain line of sight, carrying and setting up equipment such as rods, tripods, and prisms, and loading and unloading survey gear and supplies for each assignment. The Rodman also maintains survey supplies, gathers materials, digs corners, cuts lines, identifies monuments, plumbs prisms, measures distances, and cleans equipment, performing other field‑surveying tasks as assigned.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, be able to grasp basic surveying concepts, and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. They must follow supervisor directions, work collaboratively with engineering staff, endure all weather conditions and terrain, lift equipment up to 35 lb, and demonstrate dependability, reliability, and effective teamwork.
