ReStore Manager - Martin City

Description

The ReStore Store Manager role is a full‑time, exempt position reporting to the EVP of Operations, overseeing a team of ReStore staff and responsible for the overall operation and performance of Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, a mission‑driven retail environment that supports affordable housing initiatives.

The manager ensures daily store operations run efficiently and safely, handling openings and closings, deposit processing, drawer audits, and maintaining compliance with Habitat’s mission, values and financial goals while providing a welcoming experience for donors, customers, staff and volunteers.

Additional duties include coordinating procurement, pricing, marketing, facility maintenance, vendor reconciliation, and donor receiving services, as well as collaborating with the EVP of Operations on new service requirements and special sales categories.

• Process daily deposits and conduct drawer audits accurately and timely.
• Manage store openings, closings, and overall daily operations.
• Schedule, assign, and supervise staff; provide coaching, counseling, and feedback.
• Recruit, hire, train, and maintain staffing levels, including volunteers.
• Meet profit budgets to fund affordable housing and home repair projects.
• Analyze revenue variances and implement corrective actions to achieve financial objectives.
• Coordinate procurement to maintain product availability while adhering to unrelated business income tax guidelines.
• Maintain pricing using price books and approved signage.
• Execute store‑specific social media posts in partnership with marketing.
• Communicate special sales categories to EVP of Operations.
• Oversee facility maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) using approved vendors.
• Manage grounds and landscape maintenance.
• Reconcile vendor services with the finance department.
• Provide premium donor receiving services, including quick drop‑offs and donation receipts.
• Conduct daily safety walks, identify hazards, and follow the ReStore Safety Manual.
• Prepare annual inventory of purchased products.

Requirements

The position requires at least three years of personnel management experience (team of six or more), retail experience, strong relationship‑building and conflict‑resolution skills, and the ability to manage volunteers; computer proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and forklift certification and building‑materials knowledge are preferred.

Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lb, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and working at heights up to 30 ft, as well as performing manual labor and construction tasks using tools.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a team of 6+ employees.
• Retail experience required; volunteer management preferred.
• Strong relationship‑building, conflict‑resolution, and high‑pressure coordination skills.
• Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Forklift certification preferred; knowledge of building materials preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand, walk, climb, bend, squat; work at heights up to 30 ft; perform manual labor and use tools.
