Undertaking external façade assessments and survey investigations to meet the requirement of the industry standard such as implementing the PAS 9980 methodology for existing buildings and the overall EWS1 process.

Experience undertaking fire compartmentation surveys for internal fire stopping installations and advising the contractor based on the relevant manufacturer's literature.
Full UK driving licence and access to your own private vehicle.
The ability to undertake works independently and manage your own workload as required.
A good knowledge of the Fire Risk Assessment process is desirable but not essential and a general appreciation of general risk/hazards within the built environment.
The ability to input survey data utilising an app on a mobile phone or tablet device.
Extensive understanding of fire safety design and guidance for different building types.
The ability to obtain the pertinent information from the relevant parties in order to formulate robust reporting.
Compliance assessment and understanding of the main British Fire Safety Legislation and standards applied to different building occupancies, such as Approved Document B (ADB), BS9999, BS9991 & BS7974 etc.
Experience carrying out intrusive external wall surveys on a wide range of new and existing buildings such as high-rise residential, office buildings, large retail complexes, storage facilities and historic buildings.
The ability to author in depth technical reports utilising the information obtained during the site inspection using both bespoke digital fire protection software and Microsoft Word.
The ability to provide coaching and training to more junior members of the team including Graduates.
An advanced knowledge of internal passive fire protection products, fire testing regimes and the products field of application with reference to manufacturers installation details.
An advanced knowledge of refurbishment schemes and managing/advising Contractors on-site.
The ability to have a elevated attention to detail when reviewing information and during the surveying process on-site.
The ability to be coachable and develop your skillset further utilising the resources and expertise within the wider team.
An advanced knowledge of construction methods, forms of construction, fire performance of external wall materials and associated cavity barriers installations.
Ability to liaise with product manufacturers and discuss tested details and primary test evidence which supports the installations in the field of application on-site.
Degree educated in Building Surveying, Fire Safety Management or other similar discipline.
Successfully managing your own client base and exceeding client expectations.
