Coffey is now hiring a Planner to join our team. The Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining robust, logic-linked programmes that define how projects will be delivered from tender through to execution. This role ensures projects are logically sequenced, appropriately resource-loaded, risks identified, and methodologies communicated clearly to clients and delivery teams. The Planner also contributes to developing capability within the team by mentoring junior colleagues.

  • Lead or support planning input at contract review and progress meetings.
  • Monitor compliance with planning standards and company processes.
  • Prepare and maintain tender and contract baseline programmes using industry-standard software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera P6).
  • Mentor and support junior planners in developing their technical and professional capability.
  • Proactively identify risks, constraints, and opportunities and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Support bid teams with method statements, phasing diagrams, and client presentations.
  • Assist in claims and dispute resolution by providing programme and methodology evidence.
  • Break down project scope into phases, work packages, and critical activities.
  • Ensure programmes are fully logic-linked with robust critical path and float analysis.
  • Develop construction methodologies, phasing diagrams, and resource-loaded programmes.
  • Provide input into project delivery sequencing, resourcing, and mitigation options.

  • Authorised to work in Ireland i.e. stamp 4 or critical skills visa
  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail.
  • Experience with 4D planning tools or BIM integration advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and sequencing.
  • Strong communication skills – able to present programmes clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in resource loading and analysis of labour, plant, and subcontractors.
  • Full clean Irish driver licence
  • Commercially aware with understanding of risk and contract implications.
  • Supportive of developing others, with the ability to mentor and coach junior colleagues.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Primavera P6 or equivalent.
  • Experience in tendering and pre-construction advantageous.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to challenge and influence project teams to improve delivery performance.
  • Experience producing logic-linked programmes with clear critical paths and float analysis.
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in planning for civil engineering / infrastructure projects.
  • Resilient and confident in challenging assumptions and highlighting risks.
