Maintenance Technician

Overview

Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support safety.

Tasks

-Work in an environment with various chemicals on a daily basis. -Pump repair and installation. -Attend meetings and training as required. -Estimate required tools and materials for assigned tasks; communicate and ensure parts, supplies, etc. are on hand for task -Troubleshoot and repair steam systems. -Stand and walk throughout assigned shift. -Take direction from work order system and complete work, including all required paperwork/data entry in SAP-PM -Work in various climates (indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions). -Provide training to other technicians in areas of expertise -Maintain a clean and safe work environment through effective housekeeping. -Communicate with Supervisor of issues as they arise and provide updates at shift change on work order status -Appropriately respond to emergency situations. -Maintains and improves preventative/predictive maintenance programs. -Follow all EHS policies and procedures. -Follow safe work practices and support safety goals and objectives. -Complete logs, batch sheets, and other required paperwork. -Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Production. -Makes all necessary mechanical repairs on equipment, including replacement, repair and installation of rotating equipment, bearings gears, shafts, pins, etc. -Support compliance efforts – RCMS, ISO, PSM, OSHA, etc. -Work from prints, diagrams, schematics, specifications, instructions, operations manuals, and manufacturer’s manuals and specifications, to perform scheduled and emergency repairs.

What You Bring

-Reading, Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information, Observation, Teamwork. -Safe operation of industrial equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, scissors lifts, hoists, rigging, etc. -Manage time to effectively perform multiple job tasks safety and accurately. -Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization both written and orally. -Working knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, E-Mail) -Ability to work at heights and walk on grating. -Familiar with ISO-9001 and Process Safety Management. -Steam system experience preferable. -Electrical and Instrumentation experience is a plus. -Ability to follow instructions, record data -Must be able to work overtime as needed. -Piping installation and ability to determine correct materials for each service. -Communicate on a daily basis cross-functionally (Technical, Production, etc.) -Must be able to work various shifts, including off shift or swing shift as required. -3-5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment preferably. -Predictive maintenance experience – Vibration analysis, lubrication analysis, etc. -Welding Certification and applicable experience; SMAW, GTAW, GMAW -Able to lift and/or carry up to fifty (50) pounds and physical dexterity to assemble polymerization reactors -Familiar with ISO-9001, Process Safety Management, RSMC, etc -Knowledge of distributive control system (DCS). -Experience in SAP-PM (or other CMMS) -Can read and understand piping specification and engineering drawings. -Interested in Participation on ERT and able to pass and maintain all of physical requirements -Experience in a Chemical Manufacturing environment -Must be able to wear a respirator and other required PPE. -Journeyman Card or two year degree or a union card in a particular trade -High school or equivalent degree.
