Programming & Commissioning Specialist (Tech Specialist 3)

Description

The Security Systems Programming & Commissioning Specialist will be a key member of electronic security installation projects, interpreting drawings and programming sheets, configuring devices, and troubleshooting field issues to achieve acceptance testing. The position is based in Phoenix, AZ and involves pre‑testing equipment, quality auditing, site surveys, and leading commissioning activities with customers.

• Pretest electronic security equipment before field deployment.
• Perform quality audit of security drawings prior to installation.
• Conduct site surveys and document conditions using Bluebeam.
• Apply IP addresses to cameras.
• Upload firmware to access control boards.
• Upload configuration files to Cisco switches.
• Configure door access control devices using access control software.
• Troubleshoot cameras, access‑controlled doors, and network switches.
• Markup drawings with Bluebeam.
• Update programming sheets with device configuration data.
• Lead system commissioning activities with the customer’s testing agent.
• Support multiple project tasks concurrently.

Requirements

Candidates must possess either a relevant degree or extensive experience in electronic security installation, troubleshooting, or testing, along with system‑administration skills for problem triage and resolution. Preferred qualifications include vendor certifications, flexible availability for occasional nights and weekends, and the ability to travel domestically and internationally.

• Data center experience (preferred).
• Software House CCure access control certification (preferred).
• High School Diploma with 10+ years experience, or Associate with 8+ years, or Bachelor with 5+ years, or Master with 3+ years in electronic security systems.
• System administrator experience in triage, problem resolution, data analysis, and system extensions.
• Vendor certifications for electronic systems preferred.
• Reliable attendance at customer sites during required hours.
• Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS.
• Physical ability to work extended periods at a computer, sit, reach, and use finger dexterity for keyboard and equipment manipulation.
• Open and transparent communication with senior leadership and local management.
