Under direct supervision, the Materials Handler maintains the flow of materials and products on the premises according to established guidelines.
The role involves physically handling materials used to construct components and finished products, operating both motorized and non‑motorized equipment (sometimes requiring specialized training), and responding to foreman instruction to improve work processes. Safety procedures are observed at all times, with attendance at periodic safety meetings and the ability to recommend improvements.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and will receive on‑the‑job training. The job requires the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Key competencies include knowledge of material‑handling equipment, manual dexterity, familiarity with safety procedures, and the ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions using common sense.
Work is performed in a production environment with temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, noise, and dust. Employees must frequently lift and carry up to 25 lb and occasionally up to 80 lb, and may need to climb, push, or kneel as part of specific tasks.
