Description

The Pursuits Manager will lead day‑to‑day activities that support project pursuits and align with national, regional, and divisional business development plans. This role serves as a bridge between business development, operations, and marketing to drive winning strategies.

Key duties include managing the pursuit support team, coordinating proposal development, ensuring brand consistency, and maintaining a centralized knowledge repository. The manager also conducts training, researches market opportunities, and collaborates on communications initiatives to raise the firm’s visibility.

• Lead and develop the pursuit support team, including hiring, mentorship, and training.
• Prioritize and schedule pursuit workloads to align with business development and corporate initiatives.
• Ensure quality control of proposals, qualifications, and collateral for pre‑construction activities.
• Create pursuit strategies with Business Development and Operations teams (qualification packages, technical proposals, presentations).
• Oversee brand messaging implementation and maintain visual identity per Marketing standards.
• Develop and manage systems for storing and retrieving consultant, project, and proposal information on SharePoint.
• Conduct workshops and training on pursuit processes and collateral for internal staff.
• Research markets and clients, sharing insights across offices and supporting marketing communications.
• Collaborate with leadership and Marketing to raise firm visibility and position staff as industry experts.
• Support website content, collateral creation, advertising, and special events as needed.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, and bring at least ten years of experience in the A/E/C industry. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign, and strong Microsoft Office skills are required.

The ideal leader demonstrates poise, confidence, and excellent interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to mentor staff and manage multiple priorities under pressure. Advanced writing, editing, design, and marketing knowledge, combined with a deep understanding of A/E/C terminology, are essential for success.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, Communications or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the A/E/C industry.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially InDesign.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office; Salesforce preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, editing, proofreading, layout and design.

• Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and A/E/C industry terminology.
• Ability to mentor staff and foster continuous learning.
• Travel up to 10‑20% for trade shows, industry events, and training.
