Senior Electrical Wiring Designer 1 - Nuclear

Description

This role provides the chance to work in a collaborative project‑team setting focused on designing, modifying, and upgrading electrical systems for new and existing power plants.

Reporting to the Electrical Project Lead, you will be responsible for generating electrical documentation and supporting field data collection, while maintaining the required security clearance for unescorted nuclear‑station access. The position follows a hybrid schedule with three days on site each week.

• Create single‑line, relay & metering, AC/DC schematic, synchronizing, point‑to‑point wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
• Produce detailed electrical wiring drawings and integrate vendor drawings into overall project designs.
• Assist engineers with initial design requirements and conceptualize wiring termination plans.
• Participate in on‑site walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities.
• Maintain an unescorted access badge for nuclear station entry.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have a strong technical background, extensive experience in wiring design for medium‑voltage systems, and proficiency with industry‑standard drafting software. Ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines is essential.

• Hold an Associate’s Degree in drafting or a high‑school diploma with equivalent technical design experience.
• Bring 10+ years of wiring design experience on medium‑voltage and 480 V systems.
• Demonstrate extensive AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience for power‑plant projects.
• Possess knowledge of digital control systems and drafting best practices.
