- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC systems in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities including cleanrooms, sterile manufacturing areas, and laboratory spaces
- Support project teams during HVAC system upgrades and modifications in pharmaceutical facilities
- Monitor and maintain critical environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, pressure differentials, air changes) to ensure GMP compliance
- Respond to system alarms and emergency calls to minimize production downtime
- Ensure all HVAC maintenance activities comply with EU GMP guidelines, FDA standards, and Irish regulatory requirements
- Participate in regulatory inspections and audit preparations
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules for pharmaceutical-grade HVAC equipment
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and startup of new HVAC equipment and systems
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, system performance, and compliance records
- Apply fundamental mechanical principles to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with facility systems
- Support qualification and validation activities for HVAC systems (IQ/OQ/PQ protocols)
- Follow strict documentation and change control procedures required in pharmaceutical manufacturing

- Confined space and working at height certifications
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with production teams and management
- 3-7 years of hands-on HVAC maintenance and repair experience
- Strong HVAC system troubleshooting capabilities and hands-on repair experience
- Technical diploma/certificate in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field
- Relevant HVAC trade certifications or licenses
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred
- Experience with cleanroom environments and controlled manufacturing spaces
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and emergency situations
- Detail-oriented and able to follow strict procedures and documentation requirements
- May require shift work, on-call availability, and weekend coverage
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems, air handling units, chillers, and boilers
- SafePass certification or equivalent safety training
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and system schematics
- F-Gas certification for refrigerant handling (required in Ireland)
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Excellent problem-solving skills using structured methods
- Adherence to strict safety, hygiene, and gowning procedures
- Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with pharmaceutical HVAC validation processes
- Knowledge of cleanroom classification and monitoring requirements
- Physical demands include lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Completion of recognized HVAC apprenticeship program preferred
- Proficiency with HVAC controls systems, BMS/BAS systems, and monitoring equipment
- Collaborative team player who can work independently when required
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment with potential exposure to cleanroom protocols
