Eligible participants must be current active‑duty service members separating in the next 4‑12 months, able to complete an apprenticeship lasting between 8 weeks and 6 months, work a full 40‑hour week, and be mechanically minded.
The role requires a background check, motor‑vehicle record review, and physical/drug screening. TAIT will train the selected candidate to become a Construction Foreman who oversees construction tasks, supervises on‑site personnel and subcontractors, and serves as the Job Site Safety Officer. The Foreman reports directly to the Director and is responsible for delivering efficient, timely, and safe services that meet ethical and professional standards.
Candidates need 3‑5 years of commercial petroleum construction experience, relevant certifications (ICC UST Install/Retrofit, ICC UST Removal, ICC Service Technician, Veeder Root), a 24‑ or 40‑hour HAZWOPER certificate, a valid driver’s license, and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word).
Additional requirements include successful completion of background, MVR, and physical/drug screening; clear professional communication; ability to travel up to 1,000 miles per week and occasional out‑of‑town work; strong organizational and housekeeping habits; reading and interpreting design plans and diagnostic reports; capability to drive/haul a trailer; and physical ability to climb, kneel, squat, and lift in various job‑site conditions.
