The Role

Overview

Develop and draft electrical power, instrumentation, and control system designs for mining projects.

Tasks

-Coordinate work with other discipline engineers and designers. Oversee the quality of engineering drawings and documentation -Develop electrical power and instrumentation & control systems and perform a variety of functions including, plant design, calculations, 3D modelling and detailed design drawings. -Create instrument junction box drawings with parts lists -Develop models, design and drafting, using advanced modeling and assembly practices within a 3D solid modeling CAD (Smart plant) and AutoCAD Electrical environment -Create electrical material take-off (MTO) for lighting, grounding cable tray, underground conduits, etc. -Work under the direction of Electrical Engineers to develop working drawings from conceptual layout to detailed construction document packages for submission. -Create loop drawings, control architectural and other types of communication diagrams -Prepare and create common deliverables include single-lines, medium and low voltage distribution, e-house layouts, equipment lists, grounding and lighting layouts, schematic and interconnection diagrams, control systems drawings, cable tray and equipment layouts, cable schedules, cable block diagrams, loop sheets and panel layouts.

What You Bring

-Advanced skills in AutoCAD, 3D Design (Smart Plant 3D), SPEL (Smart Plant Electrical) and SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation), Microstation -Excellent communication skills -Proven leadership skills -Client-facing experience -Technical competence and strong attention to detail. -Use thorough knowledge of electrical codes and standards in everyday design work. -Familiarity with industry codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, NEMA and API STANDARDS. -Electrical Engineering Technician’s diploma or equivalent, with 10-15 years’ work experience -12+ years’ experience in a multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment; experience in a gold? concentrator design project will be an asset.
