The supervisor leads a team of Make Ready Engineers on outside plant projects across joint‑use environments, ensuring all engineering work complies with the National Electrical Safety Code, utility and municipal standards, and customer requirements. Responsibilities include overseeing OSP activities, reviewing designs, managing permit packages, using joint‑use software, and serving as the primary liaison with customers, utilities, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor a team of Make Ready Engineers ensuring quality, accuracy, and NESC compliance.
- Oversee OSP engineering activities such as pole replacements, rearrangements, and clearance compliance.
- Review and approve make‑ready designs, pole loading analyses, and joint‑use applications before submission.
- Manage creation and submission of complete pole permit packages to utilities, municipalities, and joint‑use authorities.
- Utilize joint‑use software platforms (NJUNS, SPANS, AldenOne) and conduct pole loading analysis with O‑CALC or equivalent tools.
- Serve as primary liaison with customers, utilities, municipalities, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
- Track production metrics, quality performance, and project status, providing regular reports to management and customers.
- Resolve escalations, technical or compliance issues, and support dispute resolution for make‑ready designs.
- Drive process improvements, training initiatives, and standardization of engineering practices.
- Assist with workload planning, staffing, and performance evaluations.

Candidates must have at least five years of telecommunications Make Ready or OSP engineering experience, expert knowledge of NESC compliance, and a proven track record of leading engineering teams. Proficiency with joint‑use software platforms and pole loading analysis tools, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects are essential.
