- Designs and develops products by studying customer requirements and researching different solutions.
- Participates in a cross-functional team to develop new products, sustain current products, detect problems, implement solutions, assist operations and provide aftermarket support.
- Handles product change requests by modifying current product design and completing the product change notice.
- Studies the test data and makes comparisons with similar designs.
- On occasion, will need to work with production personnel during assembly and testing of the rigs.
- Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans.
- Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings of the product.
- Some travel to mines, supplier locations, etc. which may include overseas travel.
- Builds models and prototypes of the product and tests the design.
- Prepare Bills of Material (BOM) and provide purchasing department with specifications for ordering electrical components and assemblies.

- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience
