Technician - Materials Testing

Description

• Perform material testing of soils, aggregates, asphalt concrete, and concrete in the lab and on construction sites.
• Interpret and follow applicable specifications and standards.
• Obtain and record field/lab data in a legible, organized fashion as required.
• Generate and compile testing reports.
• Communicate with project team members, contractors, and owners’ representatives.
• Maintain testing equipment as required.
• Follow public health and safety requirements and proper safety procedures.

Requirements

DLZ is looking for entry‑level individuals willing to work hard and learn new skills. The company will provide the necessary training for you to be successful as a Technician – Materials Testing in Western Pennsylvania.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred experience with e‑Builder.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Punctuality; ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to frequently lift 50 lb.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Pennsylvania and neighboring states.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR check.
• Preferred certifications: ACI Concrete Field, NECEPT Concrete, NECEPT Bituminous Field Technician, Nuclear Densometer Safety with Hazmat, relevant NICET certifications (Construction Materials Testing; Asphalt, Concrete, Soils).
