Supervising the contract security drivers who transport the GBU president and designated executives for official business purposes, including transportation to and from local airports.
Informing, via email or another approved medium, GBU leadership and all Bechtel employees at the City West campus of any major security events in the area (police-issued credible threats, significant criminal activity, upcoming VIP visits, etc.). Messages should be coordinated with the RSM for the Americas, GBU’s corporate affairs representative, and GBU leadership.
Liaising on a quarterly basis with the security representatives of all companies on and the landlord of the City West campus to exchange best practices (e.g., high-risk terminations), upcoming events, and projected VIP visits.
Liaising with security representatives at recommended local hotels used by Bechtel business travelers to ensure that security standards and contact information for hotel security teams are current.
Monitoring local criminal and security-related activities.
Developing and enforcing building security protocols in compliance with Bechtel Property Management requirements.
Collaborating with the RSM and OA&S/Facilities to review, on an annual basis, all physical, procedural, and technical security measures at the City West campus, the Welding Applied Technology Center and the Bechtel Equipment Office.
Cultivating and maintaining a professional working relationship with the Houston Police Department and its officers who support the City West Campus.
Facilitating recurring training on active assailant/active shooter preparedness and other security-related subjects for all employees.
Collaborate, support, and assist the security coordinator, in the coordinator’s absence or as otherwise necessary:
Assessing the security posture and implementing appropriate mitigation measures for all off-site official events at which the GBU president, a senior GBU executive, and/or several GBU employees are participating.

Strong Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
Knowledge of and interest in security issues in the Houston metropolitan area.
Professional proficiency in English; basic proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Analytical skills: an ability to pull together relevant data from a variety of sources, making a judgement on the utility of the information and its potential impact on security operations.
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Experience in private sector security, law enforcement, and/or military service.
An ability to work independently and make decisions without immediate input from supervisor.
Composure: an ability to manage emergency situations in a calm and efficient manner.
Ability to communicate effectively and gather information from police and municipal officials and relevant private sector groups, such as the FBI’s DSAC.
Strong oral and written communication skills: an ability to communicate in a concise, clear, and professional manner, detailing vital information to peers and management and other company employees.
