  • Create projected budgets early in the design phase of a project.
  • Oversee all projects and ensures they are executed and completed in a timely manner and on budget.
  • Manage construction staff and hold routine construction meetings on and off site

  • Collaborates with senior team leaders towards a common goal; streamline the project delivery process, review progress of buy-out, submittals, construction schedule and performance on all projects.
  • Work closely with our Sales Team to review all major subcontractor and material bids.
  • Review and approve progress payments for vendors and contractors.
  • Supervises all project documentation including submittals, change orders, amendments, etc.
  • Manages Complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Strategic Planning; works with upper management to develop long term plans for the organization around the growth and development of construction.
  • Prepare financial reporting, forecasts and budgets for the construction department
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to the construction team
  • Make decisions and recommendations which greatly impact corporate relationship with Developer or Owner.
  • Recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate and timely actions
  • Develop timelines and critical path scheduling for initial project start up.
  • Ensure the motivation, management, evaluation, discipline and succession planning for all department employees in coordination with the Human Resources Manager.
  • Reviews construction cost estimates for all projects.
  • Review and approve the phasing and construction plan developed by the owner/contractor.
  • Provides input on future projects; assists development on code analysis, constructability, and estimating and code compliance.
  • Reviews all site plans and related civil work for efficiency, construability and livability.
  • Customer Focus – Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • Provide weekly construction reports to executives for each project.
  • Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Create and manage overall schedules for all projects.
  • Manage project close-out process including all required paperwork.
  • Interface with the appropriate Individuals/departments to make sure all projects are appropriately scheduled and managed

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management or Engineering strongly preferred.
  • Self-motivated and conscientious
  • High level of proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Analytical ability and process improvement knowledge.
  • Ability to maintain records and files.
  • Extensive knowledge of planning, team development, product merchandizing, inventory turnover and ROI.
  • Ability to give presentations to both associates and senior members of the organization explaining complex solutions to problems.
  • Strong background in planning, accounting/finance, administration and economics
  • When in the field, required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety Glasses, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, Dust masks & Hearing Protection.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills required.
