The analyst will shape NESO’s long‑term view of energy markets, develop engagement strategies with strategic and financial investors, and provide insight that will inform future market mechanisms to boost investment.

Lead analysis of investor behaviour in response to market design changes.
Engage with a wide range of investors, representing NESO’s long‑term market vision and understanding their perspectives.
Review the clean‑energy landscape to identify necessary evolution of markets for future investments.
Advise internal stakeholders on near‑term market changes and potential investment impacts.
Contribute to the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA).
Liaise with DESNZ, Ofgem and other public bodies on policy and regulatory development.

Apply logical, creative and practical problem‑solving to break down complex issues.
Produce quantitative and qualitative evidence to form independent viewpoints.

Demonstrate knowledge of electricity wholesale markets, key players and market structures.
Understand key electricity policy instruments such as the Capacity Market, Contracts for Difference and the UK ETS.
Proficient in Excel and analytical techniques; experience in economics, data science or complex analysis preferred.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, with proven stakeholder engagement experience.
Manage multiple issues simultaneously with flexibility and strong prioritisation.
