The role involves carrying out structural calculations, design verifications and proposing advanced structural schemes to enable fast‑track, efficient construction. The engineer must understand complex loads such as blast and sea, and apply appropriate analysis methods. Responsibilities include reviewing supplier structural drawings for compliance with project specifications, standards and classifications, and ensuring deliverables meet deadlines. The engineer will also support other project engineers, handle multiple projects and tendering tasks, and maintain effective communication with clients and suppliers.
Key activities span customer and partner relationships, internal and external exposure, project and risk management, technical knowledge, and training. The engineer interacts directly with customers during design, testing and commissioning, translates specifications into solutions, influences internal project teams on technical choices, and presents results through reports and presentations. They monitor cost and quality targets, report deviations, and identify technical variation opportunities. They apply engineering best practices, utilize domain‑specific tools, and participate in improvement workshops.
The position requires solid experience in structural steel, transportable building and offshore structures, including blast design. Proficiency with structural analysis software such as SpaceGass, StaadPro, SACS, and FEM tools like Strand 7 is essential, as is the ability to prepare detailed calculation reports and coordinate with suppliers and clients. Knowledge of local and international building, offshore and blast design standards is mandatory.
Strong communication skills, problem‑solving ability, and proficiency with MS Office applications are required. The engineer must adhere to HSE policies, implement ISO 9001, ISO 18000 and ISO 14000 standards, and contribute to a safety‑focused workplace. A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
