The Pollution Response Technician manages all aspects of daily operation for pollution incidents, ensuring processes and activities are efficient and effective. Incident management requires effective engagement with the Customer Solutions Centre, the incident verification team and both internal and external stakeholders.
Due to continued growth we are looking for customer‑focused people to join our Utility Division on the Southern Water contract, delivering real and effective solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems. If you enjoy problem solving, working outdoors and delivering world‑class customer service where no two days are the same, you will thrive with us. Essential is the ability to work safely, quickly diagnose issues and provide practical, efficient solutions to achieve the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
The ideal candidate is hard‑working, respectful and complies with health and safety standards; experience with high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential, and drainage qualifications such as NRSWA and Confined Spaces are an advantage. A full UK driver’s licence is required.
We operate 24/7, so you will be required to work flexible hours, weekends and participate in an on‑call rota. Full training, PPE and company equipment are provided to ensure every drainage engineer has the tools, competency and confidence to meet Lanes’ high standards, regardless of background or experience.
Position: Pollution Response Technician, based at Tonbridge Depot in Kent, on a permanent full‑time contract with a shift pattern of five days on, two days off (45 hours/week) that may include weekends. Salary is £30,500 per annum and benefits include 21 days holiday plus bank holidays, birthday off, health cash plan, onsite parking, auto‑enrolment pension, enhanced maternity/paternity, a loyalty scheme and a friendly working environment.
