Working with teams across KiwiRail, you’ll identify performance trends, assess risks, and recommend improvements to optimise our network of assets. This role is about turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive long-term asset health and investment strategies.

  • Promoting innovative modelling solutions and best practice asset management
  • Forecasting and evaluating the impact of different investment scenarios on asset performance
  • Leading, monitoring and reporting on asset management performance across business units, and relevant benchmarking initiatives
  • Analysing network and asset performance to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Leading the development of asset investment, asset health, and route criticality models

  • Proven experience in asset data analytics, modelling, and reporting
  • Familiarity with industry-leading financial and asset management systems
  • 5–10 years of experience in data analytics, ideally within asset management
  • Full Time Permanent (40 Hours per week Monday – Friday)
  • Proficiency in Python, Power BI, SQL, GIS, FME (or similar tools) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • A tertiary qualification in Statistics, Commerce, Engineering, Technology, Asset Management, or a related field
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with complex datasets
