Follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices at all times to ensure safety of self and others
Inspect and verify all aspects of the material when receiving, producing, or packaging size, grade, measurements, heat, quantity, etc.
Attend all scheduled safety, department, and company meetings as required
Establish priorities for efficiently staging, processing, and packaging materials.
Confirm materials and parts are produced to print.
Ensure inventory is accurate.
Scrutinize customer requirements and special instructions to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction.
Accepts responsibility for all aspects of the work produced.
Ensure audit and material traceability procedures are being followed throughout the process.
Wear proper PPE at all times (as described in company policy)
Communicate issues with fixtures, customer prints, material issues, welding equipment, and supporting welding equipment and power/hand tools used in the welding process

Proven experience operating material handling equipment
Basic shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) knowledge, use of associated tools and welding relevant equipment.
Proven ability to read and understand prints, documents, and/or drawings
Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of material up to 51lbs
Experience operating fabrication equipment
Thoroughness / Detail orientation
Mechanical comprehension
Ability to effectively read and use a tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
Valid driver’s license
Fast-paced moderately stressful, constantly changing day-to-day work environment
Experience in continuous improvement and/or quality management
Must work with hot welding processes and products
Facility is a multiple shift operation. Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule and be on-call at various times including possible weekends and holidays
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Strong computer, tablet, or mobile device skills
Ability to plan and execute short and long-term goals
Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per shift. Capable of ascending and descending material handling equipment
Understanding of SPS policies and procedures
Ability to lift up to 51 pounds as needed. Pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 pounds
Working at a job site or facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated and/or unheated, dusty and noisy; steel-toed boots required daily
