Actively develop, calibrate, and apply hydrogeologic conceptual and groundwater flow models to support policy and regulatory processes.
Compile, review, process, and analyze hydrogeologic data using spreadsheets, databases, GIS, graphing software, and computer programming.
Conduct complex data analysis related to water resources management, including:
Develop tools using codes such as Python or other programming languages to support and analyze groundwater modeling projects.
Support a wide variety of groundwater management and planning activities related to SGMA implementation, water supply assessment and management studies, and conduct groundwater analysis in support of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
Evaluate land surface operations, including land use data analysis, and quantify agricultural and urban water supplies and demands.
Prepare data summaries and graphics, presentations, technical reports and memoranda.

Experience with hydrologic modeling platforms such as CA Department of Water Resource’s Integrated Water Resources Model (IWFM) and/or US Geological Survey’s MODFLOW models is desirable.
Excellent organizational, writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
BS in Water Resources Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, or a related field, MS/PhD preferred.
Current or prior knowledge of California regulations is desirable.
Experience in working on water resources, groundwater and/or closely related projects; specific experience with local and regional modeling is highly desirable.
The candidate must be a proactive communicator, both internally and externally, and work with both junior and senior project staff.
Experience with programing languages such as Python for data analysis is desirable.
