Quantity Surveyor – Sports Projects

Description

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all cost and contract aspects of sports-related construction projects, including stadiums, sports facilities, fitness centers, outdoor courts, and recreational complexes. The role ensures accurate cost estimation, efficient budget management, and compliance with contract terms to support successful project delivery.

• Evaluate technical drawings, specifications, and design changes to determine cost impact.
• Manage project budgets from concept through completion, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and sports facility specialists to support decision-making.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents for sports and recreational facility projects.
• Assist in final accounts preparation and project close-out documentation.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify quantities, and assess variations.
• Support procurement activities, including material pricing, vendor evaluation, and finalizing purchase orders.
• Analyze and negotiate subcontractor quotations, contracts, and claims.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, contract requirements, and safety regulations.
• Track and manage variations, change orders, and value engineering proposals.
• Participate in project meetings and provide recommendations on cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and financial updates for project stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience with international sports facility standards (FIFA, FIBA, ITF, IAAF, etc.).
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of construction costs, materials, and methods used in sports facilities.
• Knowledge of sports flooring, turf systems, athletic equipment, and special materials.
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects.
• Experience in contract administration (FIDIC preferred).
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years working specifically on sports or recreational facility projects (stadiums, arenas, sports courts, fitness centers, etc.).
• Proficient in QS software (CostX, Candy, Excel, AutoCAD, etc.).
